Launched in June 2009, mybowerbird.com is the brainchild of Therese Cullen – a milliner, nutritionist, stylist, mother of three, wife, business woman and self-confessed shopping addict with an eye for style. It was this eye that saw her constantly bombarded with requests from friends, family and clients to source everything from a bathroom tile to the latest heels – and invariably she delivered.

Therese, a country girl and the youngest of 12, spent years in the city with easy access to everything stylish before returning to life in the country. ‘Once a country girl gets a taste of the city and returns to her roots it doesn’t long before the wish list is nearly as long as the drive to buy it’, says Therese.

“As more and more companies and products set up shop online the issue is finding the time to sort the good from the bad, the ugly from the unique and the fad from the fantastic to actually find what you’re looking for.”

“Endless conversation take place with people exchanging web address only to get home and forget what was said, they misspell the URL or lose the scrap of paper with some scribbled web address.”

“My life was beginning to resemble that of a bowerbird – constantly collecting and sourcing amazing things from everywhere for other people so I thought it was only fair to share this collection and insight,” said Therese.

mybowerbird.com centres on key shopping categories – fashion, beauty, children products, interiors, homewares and a sales guide. You’ll also find some quirky products that you would probably otherwise never see such as unique sculptures from Poppy Crossing Designs based in Binalong.
